Blessings

I have been blessed with an amazing life.  I have been married almost 2 years to a man I am crazy about.  I have a wonderful family who is always there for me. I have never been without a job.  Iv made great friends through our awesome church.  Everything in my life has been a blessing from Jesus, I am so thankful for all i have been given.  I am a dreamer, I take after my dad in that way.  Growing up he always had crazy ideas, sometimes they would actually work and sometime they were just dreams.  I do this a lot, I like to talk about the plans and dreams i have for my life, I dream big just like my dad.  I am excited about my future, as unpredictable as it is.  I have a tendency to talk about it a lot and i can see how this would come across as me always wanting more.  I am happy where I am in life, I am happy in our small, very old, and drafty house.  It does not matter where we end up, or in what type of house we live in, or if we have nice things or not, as long as I am with the man I love, I will be happy anywhere.  Yes I have big dreams, but no one gets anywhere without dreaming.  I have been abundantly blessed in this life and i couldn't be happier.

My Baseball Family

Is there a word that can some up baseball season?  Is there a phrase?  Maybe a saying? The smells of hot dogs, and fresh cut grass.  The sunny days when you feel the warmth on your skin as you sit in the bleachers watching the games.  The constant stress, worry and anticipation as you sit on the edge of your seat inning after inning followed by overwhelming joy after a close win.  This is what baseball is all about.  What I can't explain is the amazing friendships and bonds created every year going through these things together.  How can a sport bring people so close? Maybe it's the consistency of it all.  I know when I go to a game that I will have a seat waiting for me just to the right of the dugout.  I know that the friends and family will all be waiting there cheering for our team, and whether we win or not our faith in our husbands, sons, brothers and boyfriends will never fade.  No matter what happens.  They are my second family, they make this place my home.  Being here for two years and having these people here to lean on, to go through the ups and downs with.  They understand what it feels like when one of our boys is going through a slump and they will be there to sympathize with each other and cheer them on until they are on top again.  All i know is that i wouldn't trade it for anything.  I am not going to miss Lubbock when we leave, but i will miss this team, and i will miss the friendships created here. I will miss my baseball family.

Our Story

After building on a friendship for many years, dating back to early high school, we decided to begin a long distance relationship during Stephen's sophomore year at Eastern Oklahoma State.  It was not easy bing so far away from each other.  We were away from each other more then we were together. As the old saying goes "absence makes the heart grow fonder" well in our case that couldn't be more true. Stephen arrived at Texas Teach in August 2009 to start practice with the Red Raider Baseball Team. It was a long month away from each other, while Stephen was getting to know his new team i was back home in WA working on last minute wedding plans.  Stephen flew home for the wedding in September 17th, and we were married on September 19,2009 we had one night together before he flew back to Texas to start fall ball.  My mom and I made the three day drive down to Lubbock TX a few days later. We have learned so much this past year. I know I would not have made it though the homesickness, Texas weather, new job, division one baseball season and marriage without the love and guidance of Jesus. He has taught me to be patient and trust in Him, and to be thankful for all he has given me. Im looking forward to seeing what else God has in store for us in these next few years
